My make up for the day was done by Ranad, find her here (pssst, she’s amazing)
This week I graduated from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David with a first class honours degree in International Hotel Management, after two very difficult (but very exciting) years studying and working full time, I finally finished!
I have never been academic, science and maths were never my strong subjects, drama and sociology were my strongest, I gave up on sixth form, I struggled through college, I started a degree at a different university but gave up on that too, so as far as education goes the path was not straightforward. My parents received many teary phone calls (and visits) from me ready to give up but they stuck by me, Steff was lucky and missed a year of stress, but he got his fair share these last sixth months, I vividly remember Steff coming home to me breaking down on the stairs because I’d lost a whole assignment, the pure horror on his face as I lost it will be cherished forever. University life was definitely not easy, but graduating definitely was and I had such an amazing day!
After the ceremony, we grabbed a bite to eat with the other graduates and then headed home for celebrations with the rest of my family at the place where my passion for hospitality grew 6 years ago! It was amazing being surrounded by family celebrating an achievement we never thought I’d get (ha).
My mum also organised the most beautiful (and delicious) cake which went down a treat with everyone, check it out!
That’s a wrap folks!
